About Angelika

Proof & Polish is the practice of one editor: Angelika, UCLA graduate, J.D., Loyola Law School. She works directly with every client, on a deliberately limited roster.

Based in Los Angeles. Working with families nationwide.

The origin

Why the practice exists

Angelika built Proof & Polish around a plain observation: applying to college overwhelms families. Expectations run high, timelines run tight, and plenty of students feel pushed to perform a version of themselves that is not quite true.

Her answer is principled, individualized support. No ghostwriting, no reshaping a student into someone else. She helps students reflect, clarify, then communicate their own experiences with confidence, so the ideas stay theirs from first draft to final read.

The training

Education that shows in the work

Angelika earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA. Her Juris Doctor comes from Loyola Law School.

The legal training shows up as analytical precision: arguments that hold, structures that carry weight, sentences that say what they mean. That is the discipline she brings to a school list, a personal statement, a resume.

The model

Founder-led, by design

There is no team of contractors behind the logo. Angelika is the founder plus the sole consultant, which means every client works directly with her, start to finish.

The client list stays intentionally limited. A small roster is what makes the attention real: she knows each student's schools, deadlines, drafts, without a file to check.

The stance

Her view on ethical help

Plenty of paid help in admissions quietly crosses the line into doing the work. Angelika's position is simple: coaching teaches, ghostwriting cheats, and the difference is the whole business.

The Academic Integrity Policy puts that position in writing, where clients can hold her to it.

The standards

What the practice stands for

Student first

Advice follows what helps the student grow over years, never what closes a sale.

Always ethical

The integrity line holds everywhere: her edits suggest, the student decides, the work stays the student's own.

Process-driven

Set timelines, organized drafts, feedback with a point. Structure is what makes the season manageable.

Genuine support

Encouragement with a spine: dependable guidance, delivered plainly, even when the advice is hard to hear.
